Malaga tourism information: What to do?

Water Sports
It’s the Sun Coast (Costa del Sol), so the beach is king in these parts. Most activities (wind surfing, Jet Skis, parasailing, etc.) are available through the major resorts that dot the coast.

Boating
Most major resorts have marinas that offer one-day or half-day charters for fishing or pleasure. Your ship will probably arrive and depart Malaga at night so you’ll miss some of the best views of coastal Spain – unless you include a trip out to sea as a daytime excursion.

Hiking
Take a hike! In town, in the mountains, along the coast, the options are there for those who prefer to strike out on their own. Check first with your ship’s Shore Excursion Desk for suggested routes so that you get the most from your limited time in Málaga.

Golfing
Once again, the resorts of the Costa del Sol shine through. Check locally for tee times and course availability. Summer is the season here and things (tours, restaurants, boats, and golf courses) fill up quickly.

Bullfights
Toro! Maybe not the most P.C. event these days, but if it floats your boat, Malaga has a bullring. Most events are scheduled on weekends and take place at the Malagueta Bullring. It should go without saying that this sport is for spectators only, but – after some tapas and a nice bottle of wine…

Nightlife in Malaga
Málaga throughout the year, but especially from April to October, the night temperature is very mild making it possible to thoroughly enjoy yourself in the company of Malaga's youth who fill the streets, bars and discos until the early hours of the morning having a good time.

There are two areas with a special atmosphere: El Palo, where the school is located, and the old city center where there are many bars, restaurants, some discos and disco bars.

There exits also a nightly bus service between El Palo and the center.

The best sources of information are the students themselves, those that have attended the school during previous courses.

They understand perfectly where the nightlife is, where the most interesting places are and those that are currently the most popular The bars and discotheques of Malaga reflect the night life of the city in a wonderful way. If you are going to make a night of it you can start with dinner, either going for tapas from one place to another or you can choose to go to one of the many fabulous restaurants in the area. There is always a party atmosphere everywhere and it would be very difficult not to have a great time when you go out at night in the historic downtown area of Malaga, also after a tasty little dinner you can keep on partying in all the bars and discotheques that are open till the early hours of the morning... Although if what pleases you to go out are discotheques, you have to go downtown or to the Coast (Puerto Marina - Benalmadena, Marbella...). A taxi to go back to the area of El Palo will cost you more or less 6 €. If you don't want to take a taxi you can always wait for one of the night buses that leave from the Alameda Principal every hour.
